Proven Leadership and Sales Team Management

While I have had a lot of success as an individual salesperson - I have accomplished even more by leading sales teams (see Executive Summery; My Work History). Managing is accomplishing more by working through others.

At the core of my success as a manager is my sincere desire to help those who report to me - to grow, improve and succeed. Anyone who has ever reported to me will confirm - I’m always willing to help them, and I take pride in their growth and successes.

Clear and regular communication of information and expectations is important when managing a sales team. However, communication is a two way street. I want the opinions and feedback of my team members and I encourage them to share what works for them - with me and their coworkers. That way we all learn from each other; we each get better while the team as a whole improves.

I’m definitely not a desk jockey who just sends out reports and sales goals. I’m a hands on, in-field manager who works directly with his people (and their customers) to help them discover and overcome obstacles. And help them become better salespeople and sell more.

Without good communications and a genuine concern for your people - effective leadership is not possible.

I set clear, attainable goals. I reward and praise success and work with those who come up short. When necessary, I reluctantly replace ineffective or unproductive team members.
